摘要: Objective To study the changes in peak systolic velocities of ipsilateral external carotid artery (ECA) following revascularization. Methods All patients randomized to stenting (CAS) or endarterectomy (CEA) International Carotid Stenting Study (ICSS; ISRCTN25337470) our center were included. Peak (PSV) assessed with duplex ultrasound (DUS) at baseline, 30 days, and 12 24 months after treatment. Our primary outcome measure was change blood flow ECA (ΔPSVECA). Secondary prevalence post interventional occlusion. Results Of 270 enrolled ICSS center, 224 (mean age, 68.8 years; 154 males) included present (116 CAS, 108 CEA). Baseline PSV similar between groups. Following gradually increased during follow-up, whereas remained relatively stable CEA; mean difference CAS CEA: 23 cm/s (95% CI, –5 52), 58 cm/s 27–89), 69 cm/s 31–107) months, months. One new occlusion occurred two CEA. Conclusion Blood increase significantly but not However, this does lead a higher rate first 2 years We conclude that is inferior CEA preserving as possible potential collateral pathway for cerebral supply within
