Evaluation of DNA binding, DNA cleavage, protein binding and in vitro cytotoxic activities of bivalent transition metal hydrazone complexes

摘要: Divalent Co, Ni and Cu hydrazone complexes containing [N'-(phenyl(pyridine-2-yl)methylidene) benzohydrazide] ligand were synthesised characterised. Interactions of these with DNA revealed an intercalative mode binding between them. Further, all the chelates showed moderate ability to cleave pUC19 DNA. Synchronous fluorescence spectra proved that interaction metal bovine serum albumin (BSA) resulted in a conformational change latter. Assay on cytotoxicity above against HeLa tumor cells NIH 3T3 normal are toxic only but not cells. In biological assays, complex copper ion as center enhanced activities than other two.
