摘要: Understanding the molecular mechanisms of bacterial pathogenesis and virulence is great importance from both an academic clinical perspective, especially in view alarming increase resistance to existing antibiotics antibacterial agents. Use small molecules dissect basis these dynamic processes a very attractive approach due their ability for rapid spatiotemporal control specific biochemical functions. Activity-based protein profiling (ABPP), employing molecule probes interrogate enzyme activities complex proteomes, has emerged as powerful tool study pathogenesis. In this chapter, we present set ABPP methods identify analyze enzymes essential growth, metabolism different pathogens including S. aureus L. monocytogenes using natural product-inspired activity-based probes.
