摘要: The operation of small precision mechanisms such as timers, switches, or actuators depends on burr-free, sharp-edged component parts. Traditional methods producing these near-perfect edges miniature parts are costly and not precise repeatable some piecepart designs require. By controlling the size burrs produced in machining operations, burr removal costs can be lowered, repeatability resulting improved. This investigation sought to determine how variables influence end-milling operations. It was concluded that low feed rates which commonly used create larger than do more conventional feedrates. Dull tools double burrs. Increasing radial depth cut also increases many edges. A single produce eight different Burr properties vary noticeably even along a edge. Burrs 1018 steel, 6061-T6 aluminum, 303 Se, 17-4 PH stainless were typically 0.003 inch thick. heights ranged from 0.0001 0.070 inch. Conceptual mathematical descriptions formation have been developed.
