摘要: Receptor Activator of NF-kappa B (RANK) pathway controls mammary gland development in mice but its role stem cell fate remains undefined. We show that constitutive RANK signaling expands luminal and basal compartments including progenitor pools interferes with the generation CD61+ Sca1+ cells Elf5 expression. Impaired commitment upon overexpression leads to accumulation progenitors K14+K8+ bipotent formation heterogeneous tumors containing hyperplastic basal, luminal, cells. expression increases wild-type epithelia age parity, spontaneous preneoplastic lesions express accumulate In human breast tumors, high levels are also associated altered differentiation. These results suggest increased commitment, contributing carcinogenesis.
