摘要: Currently, large quantities of municipal solid waste (MSW) in many cities the developing countries are being dumped informal or formal but unregulated dumpsites that threaten ecological environment and general public health. The situation Dar es Salaam, Tanzania is particular concern further challenged by a rapidly growing population urbanization without adequate management systems. Current MSW treatment options have been selected based on judgment experience individuals with authority while underestimating role scientifically derived techniques. This study analyzes most efficient options, particularly scenarios lowest economic environmental costs (EcC EnC, respectively). It uses 12 years (2006–2017) data compares potential for identified streams. A total 108 different were designed, multi-criteria analysis method was applied to enable identification 11 acceptable EcCs EnCs. These formed an initial decision matrix aggregation dominance then categorized into four groups, each represented ideal point. Finally, dominant scenario core all considered found. around $274,100 USD saving about 1585 metric tons (MT) CO2 emissions daily. suggests after generated city collected segregated, organic should be composted whilst plastic, paper, glass, ferrous metal recycled. After treatment, other will go some form landfill. Sustainable this others similar conditions consider local could use methods findings as starting
