摘要: We previously reported that bilateral electrical stimulation in the anterior limb of internal capsule/bed nucleus stria terminalis (IC/BST) effectively reduces symptoms severe treatment-resistant obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) patients. Here we used a linear mixed model to investigate evolution symptomatic and functional status our patients (n=24) examined if baseline variables could predict this evolution. Data were collected during routine, clinical psychiatric visits. Our analysis showed long-term, sustained effect IC/BST. After fast initial decline OCD symptoms, these remain relatively stable. In addition, found strong ON/OFF (e.g., due battery depletion). data also show it is not surgical procedure but rather drives improvement Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale (Y-BOCS) scores. The Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) at was only predictor significantly related Y-BOCS. A higher BDI seemed be smaller decrease Y-BOCS over time. conclusion, IC/BST has on comorbid
