摘要: Abstract The aim of the present study was to elucidate interrelationship between cigarette smoking and occurrence periopathogens, i.e., Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans, Bacteroides gingivalis intermedius. based on 145 patients with clinically severe periodontitis. 52 men (age range 32–73 years) 93 women 32–74 years). 83 were smokers (≥ 15 cigarettes/day) 62 non-smokers. Bacterial samples collected from one site a probing depth ≥6 mm for each individual. There no statistically significant differences in bacterial counts non-smokers (p>0.05). relative frequencies positive A. actinomycetemcomitans 31% 31%, B. 42% 44%, intermedius 65% 53%, respectively. groups not different combinations these bacteria also determined. periopathogens (p < 0.05). results suggest that smoker non-smoker do differ regard occurrence, frequency or
