摘要: Apicomplexan parasites like Toxoplasma gondii are distinctive in their utilization of para site encoded motor systems to invade cells. Invasion results the establishment parasitophorous vacuole (PV) within infected cell. Most apicomplexans complete intracellular tenure cell PV that is demarcated from host cytoplasm by membrane (PVM). In this chapter I focus on events surrounding formation PVM and selected activities attributed it. Its central role as interface between parasite its immediate environment, cytoplasm, validated diversity functions While structural organization, nutrient acquisitions signaling have been defined molecular bases remain largely unknown. Several recent studies decoding genome set stage for a rapid expansion our understanding biology.
