摘要: Arambag community development block (C.D. Block) is situated in the interfluvial zone of Damodar and Dwarkeswar River, which one flood-prone areas West Bengal. Despite frequent flood problems, population this region very high due to fertile floodplains, on people are dependent for their livelihood. During floods, generally take shelter nearby safe places, where they can find food, health assistance safety. School, government buildings, halls act as evacuation shelters its limited use. Present study aims identify optimal location during hazards through geospatial techniques. Several factors analyzed analytical hierarchy process relative importance, finally overlay analysis done environment out proper locations. Various sites have been identified, most suitable locations proposed after field verification.
