摘要: On 1 October 2009, a high intensity storm hit the Ionian coast of Sicily, SW Messina, Italy. The Santo Stefano di Briga rain gauge, located 2 km W coast, recorded 225 mm in seven hours. intense rainfall event triggered abundant slope failures, and resulted widespread erosion deposition debris along ephemeral drainage channels, extensive inundation, local modifications coastline. Landslides occurred territory prone to due geological geomorphological settings. Many landslides were related presence roads lacking adequate drainage.
