摘要: Abstract Between 1960 and 1990, a total of 998 patients were treated at the Sydney Melanoma Unit for cutaneous melanoma head neck. There 595 male 403 female patients, with median age 53 years. The most common primary lesion site was face (47%), followed by neck (29%), scalp (14%), ear (10%). Histologic types as follows: superficial spreading 30%, nodular 28%, lentigo maligna 16%, other 26%. All underwent surgical treatment. Primary closure wounds achieved in 52% excision margins 2 cm or less 45%. A 152 had therapeutic dissections, 234 elective dissections. overall local recurrence rate 13%, this significantly influenced increasing tumor thickness Clark level. after dissection 24%, parotid recurrences 14%. Melanoma-specific survival 77% 5 years 66% 10 entire group. By univariate analysis, varied age, thickness, ulceration, anatomic sub-site, histologically positive nodes, presence distant metastases. diagnosis lymph node both appeared to improve survival. With multivariate all these factors remained significant prognostic except dissection, which lost its beneficial influence.
