摘要: Abstract Desalination activities may have a detrimental impact on the marine environment, caused mainly by hypersaline effluents. The aim of this paper is to assess quality Environmental Monitoring Plans (EMPs) desalination plants in Spain, and aspects which could be improved correctly manage brine discharges. A total 30 projects submitted Impact Assessment (EIA) between 1998 2009 been reviewed. Requirements for monitoring discharges, their sampling designs, EMPs over time. However, trend similar essential irrelevant descriptors. Furthermore, presence protected species area discharges showed significant increase requirements. Nevertheless, there was no requirements with respect major discharge production plant. In conclusion, review EIAs would advisable unify at national level, improving including descriptors when they are absent, eliminating present. This standardization should paid attention higher as greater influence environment.
