The Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) in Persian Speaking Patients with Knee Osteoarthritis

摘要: Background: Osteoarthritis of the knee is most common chronic joint disease that involves middle aged and elderly persons. There are different clinical instruments to quantify health status patients with osteoarthritis one example WOMAC score has been translated adapted into languages. The purpose this study was cultural adaptation, validation reliability testing Persian version index in Iranians osteoarthritis. Methods: We original questionnaire by forward backward technique, then its psychometric done on 169 native speaking degenerative disease. Mean age 53.9 years. SF-36 KOOS were used assess construct validity. Results: Reliability resulted a Cronbach’s alpha 0.917, showing internal consistency be reliable tool. Inter-correlation matrix among scales yielded highly significant correlation between all subscales including stiffness, pain, physical function.
