摘要: Genetically distinct populations are an important component of biodiversity. This work estimates the number per area a sample species from literature on population differentiation and average range distribution maps. yields estimate about 220 species, or 1.1 to 6.6 billion globally. Assuming that extinction is linear function habitat loss, approximately 1800 hour (16 million annually) being destroyed in tropical forests alone.
