摘要: An urgent need exists for vaccines to prevent infections caused by nontypeable Haemophilus influenzae and Moraxella catarrhalis. These bacteria cause otitis media in children, a clinical problem associated with enormous morbidity cost. H. M. catarrhalis also lower respiratory tract adults chronic lung disease. Infections this setting are disability death. Recent progress identifying potential vaccine antigens both raises great promise developing effective vaccines. This paper reviews the key issues development catarrhalis, including areas where has been stalled, proposes that deserve investigation next 5 years.
