摘要: Aim The present study aimed to determine the association of sarcopenia, defined by muscle mass, strength and physical performance, with functional disability from a 2-year cohort community-dwelling elderly Japanese people. Method Participants were 743 people aged 65 years or older. We used bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) measure grip strength, usual walking speed performance in baseline study. Functional was using an activities daily living (ADL) scale instrumental (IADL) at during follow-up examinations 2 later. Logistic regression analysis, adjusted for age body mass index, examine between sarcopenia occurrence disability. Results In study, 7.8% men 10.2% women classified as having sarcopenia. Among patients 36.8% 18.8% became dependent ADL follow up. From logistic significantly associated occurrences compared normal subjects both women.
