摘要: The contribution of serum adenosine deaminase (ADA) activity to the diagnosis typhoid fever was assessed in 246 children and 46 adults, by Giusti's original technique. Children included otherwise healthy patients admitted for elective surgical conditions or under follow up epilepsy which were considered be a control group (n: 81), presumptive viral diseases 31), miscellaneous febrile except 41), different kinds bacteremia 6), diarrhea due Salmonella typhimurium 14), hepatitis 24), culture proven 49). Adult's 39 controls 7 with fever. Among mean ADA as follows: 28 +/- 7.8, disease 35.3 13.1, 36.1 15.6, group: 30.3 10.3, salmonellosis 51.6 9, 68.3 34.5, 124.4 40.8 U/I 37 degrees C. values 18.4 7.5 112.8 19.2 C patients. In both adults significantly higher (p < 0.0001). Untreated had their between 10th 15th day illness. When cut point set at 80 U/I, sensitivity test 91.8% specificity 91.4% preliminary clue recognition
