摘要: The use of mucoperiostial flaps during cleft palate surgery is associated with altered palatal bone growth and development. We analyzed the potential usefulness a bioengineered oral mucosa in an vivo model palate. First, 4 mm defect was created one side 3 week-old New Zealand rabbits, complete autologous (BOM) or acellular fibrin-agarose scaffold (AS) implanted. No material implanted negative controls (NC), positive were not subjected to (PC). Animals allowed grow for 6 months results morphologically (palate size) histologically. Results show that development significantly NC AS animals, whereas BOM animals had similar PC properly integrated host amount compaction collagen fibers between PC, both groups comparable contents proteoglycans glycoproteins at bone. differences found decorin, osteocalcin BMP2. substitutes able improve maturation by preventing alterations denuded These support clinical treatment patients other conditions which grafts are necessary consequent denudation.
