摘要: SUMMARY. Seventy-six type A influenza viruses recovered from waterfowl in Wisconsin, California, South Dakota, Florida, Texas, Alabama, and Nebraska were tested for virulence chickens. The challenge to chickens was intravenous inoculation of first-, second-, or thirdegg-passage virus. Each the virus strains separately three four Eighteen 76 caused death one more following inoculation. Postmortem lesions similar all dead birds. In decreasing order frequency, gross included: swollen kidneys evident as accentuated lobular patterns, urates pericardial sac, on surface liver. Microscopic present consistent with visceral gout. Mortality associated inoculations having higher concentrations infectious These results indicate that circu
