摘要: The LAT52 gene of tomato is expressed in a pollen-specific manner. It shown that encodes heat-stable, glycosylated protein traverses the secretory pathway when baculovirus expression system. shows some similarity with Kunitz trypsin inhibitors and pollen proteins from maize, rice olive, but biological function these unknown. To test whether plays an important role during development, plants were transformed antisense driven by promoter. Because gametophytically, only 50% primary transformants would be expected to express construct. Selfprogeny 19 showed predicted 3:1 segregation for single locus insertion linked kanamycin-resistance gene. However, self-progeny other 32 1:1 pattern could not transmit through male. A subset class was examined detail. lower levels mRNA compared wild-type. In vitro, approximately grains appear hydrate abnormally; this anomaly present same are incubated medium higher water potential. vivo pollination experiments growth around tubes arrested style. no significant differences untransformed control plants. Taken together, results show direct correlation between reduced abnormal function, suggest hydration and/or germination.
