摘要: Abstract Pure ovarian dysgerminomas with associated elevation of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) are rare, and their optimum management is unclear. We report here a 24-year-old woman stage III dysgerminoma the ovaries, bulky intrapelvic disease, paraaortic adenopathy, elevated pre- postsurgical serum β-hCG titers. Following administration whole abdominal-pelvic mediastinal irradiation therapy, patient's adenopathy regressed, her serial titers returned to normal, she has remained free disease for past 30 months. Histopathological studies revealed pure scattered giant cells which were negative hCG by immunoperoxidase staining. The literature reviewed reference significance levels, presence in association ovary, therapeutic implications. Serial determinations may prove be as valuable these patients they testicular tumors.
