摘要: Abstract This crystal structure study examines systematically the effect of guest size and substituents on guest–host interactions in a number simple p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene host–guest compounds. With increasing chain length, conformation becomes increasingly complex, going from all-trans (C6) to s-shaped (C8) helical (C12) conformations. For Cl-substituted alkanes, Cl atom is excluded deep cavity, again by taking complex However, can be forced into cavity with rigid guests such as 1,4-dichlorobenzene. The results suggest that it space filling rather than specific give these compounds stability, they should properly described clathrates stoichiometric materials.
