摘要: Purpose of review The prevalence obesity has risen dramatically in the general population and among cancer survivors last three decades. In this review, we highlight impact on carcinogenesis survival with a focus bladder renal cell carcinoma (RCC). Recent findings Obesity presents an established risk factor for up to 1.8-fold relative RCC. Data regard are less abundant but support association as well. Possible biological mechanisms involved insulin/insulin-like growth pathway, sex steroids, adipokines chronic inflammation well treatment disparities within normal weight versus obese patients. With survival, no conclusion can be drawn either tumor entity at time because contradictory findings. These part attributed methodological limitations, while same data exist notion that patients exhibit aggressive tumors. Summary drives RCC potentially cancer. Evidence regarding been therefore clear-cut recommendation made management despite maintain healthy lifestyle. However, given future burden will constitute, physicians should encourage loss help prevent gain population.
