摘要: Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects ischemic preconditioning (IPC) and N-acetylcysteine (NAC) on oxidative stress resulting from tourniquet-induced ischemia-reperfusion (IR) period in arthroscopic knee surgery. Methods: Forty-five patients who had surgery for meniscal chondral lesions pathologic medial plica were included study. They assigned following treatment groups: control (group C; n = 15), IPC P; NAC N; 15). Subjects group underwent routine surgical procedures. subjected temporary ischemia, with tourniquet performed by three compression cycles 5 minutes followed reperfusion just before application inflation. received 10 mg/kg dissolved 100 mL 0.9% normal saline intravenously 30 An hour applied (preischemia) 2 hours after removed (reperfusion), blood samples (to test metabolites) obtained. Levels malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), total antioxidant capacity (TAC), oxidant status (TOS) measured all serum samples. Results compared between, preischemia groups. Results: MDA found be increased significantly preischemia, whereas groups did not change insignificantly. SOD GSH activities significantly, reperfusion. TAC decreased TOS but different Mean MDA, TOS, SOD, GSH-Px levels lower P than C at (p < 0.05). N Conclusions: Tourniquet-induced IR resulted increasing GSH-Px, decreasing TAC. protective effect occurrence preventing TAC, changes
