摘要: OBJECTIVE Intraoperative analysis of microrecording data during pallidotomy often depends on subjective interpretation the oscilloscope signal, especially phasic activity. The goals this project were: 1) to develop an inexpensive system that allowed on-line, objective characterization single-unit pallidal discharges, and 2) have criteria differentiate internal part (GPi) from external (GPe) globus pallidus. METHODS A computer program was developed firing rates (mean, median, quartiles), spike count per unit time, interspike interval (ISI) histograms with Chi-square statistical evaluation. Indices were measured activity, including burst index (BI) for measurement bursts, pause (PI) pauses, ratio (PR) time spent in pauses. Single-unit activity 152 GPe 203 GPi cells 47 Parkinson patients digitized using soundcard analyzed software. RESULTS GPe discharges had a mean rate = 42 Hz, BI 0.81, PI 0.21, PR 1.41. 81, 1.61, 0.04, 0.21. best differentiated GPi, followed by PI, BI, rates, order. Kinesthetic recorded equally their responses generalized movements not significantly different. CONCLUSION (1) Signal digitization process sound card dedicated software is satisfactory “on-line” “off-line” microrecordings (including activity); (2) are most helpful differentiating neurons those GPe; (3) no single parameter can all cases; (4) unlike findings 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP)-treated monkeys, similar prevalence kinesthetic somatotopic effects.
