摘要: Summary •Phosphate is essential for many cellular processes including the light reactions of photosynthesis. Photosynthesis results in production triose phosphates that are transported across chloroplast envelope to cytosol counterexchange phosphate. Until recently, members plastid phosphate transport family, which mediate exchange phosphorylated compounds, were only proteins known into chloroplast. •Here, we characterized a transporter, MtPHT2;1 Medicago truncatula. Transient expression an MtPHT2;1-GFP fusion protein indicates located envelope. •The activity was assayed yeast where mediates uptake with Km 0.6 m and pH optimum 3–4. •MtPHT2;1 expressed all photosynthetic tissues plant transcript levels also influenced by light, development status plant. The location membrane suggest role chloroplast.
