Effect of ethanol on the palmitate-induced uncoupling of oxidative phosphorylation in liver mitochondria.

摘要: The effect of ethanol on the uncoupling activity palmitate and recoupling activities carboxyatractylate glutamate was studied in liver mitochondria at various Mg2+ concentrations medium pH values (7.0, 7.4, 7.8). Ethanol taken concentration 0.25 M had no palmitic acid presence 2 mM MgCl2 decreased effects added to either just before or after fatty acid. However, did not modify overall combination. as 7.0. Elevated (up 8 mM) inhibits palmitate. eliminates substantially under these conditions, but does influence glutamate. It is inferred that ADP/ATP aspartate/glutamate antiporters are involved function single complex with common pool. Fatty molecules gain ability migrate action ethanol: from antiporter addition opposite direction Possible mechanisms translocation one transporter another discussed.
