摘要: Despite considerable expenditure on public hazard education, levels of natural preparedness remain low. Building and health research about protective behaviour, a social cognitive model is proposed. The commences with factors that motivate people to prepare, progresses through the formation intentions, ends in decisions prepare or not prepare. Variables implicated at each stage are identified their role described. was tested by examining earthquake preparedness. Analysis suggests reasoning process leads preparing represent discrete processes. implications for conceptualising assessing discussed, as risk reduction communication.
