摘要: Sixteen patients with metastatic carcinoid tumors of ileal or cecal origin were studied in order to evaluate the frequency and degree cardiac involvement a nonselected patient group. We have also correlation between plasma hormone levels (e.g., 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) substance P) involvement. The underwent physical examinations, electrocardiograms, chest x-rays, catheterization, echocardiography. Plasma 5-HT P analyzed. Carcinoid heart was found 3 16 (19%) but no had subjective symptoms associated disease. Four (25%) slight pulmonary hypertension. No left-sided lesions seen. blood found. Eight died during follow-up period, none these cause death failure. disease is not as common our selected on cardiological basis described earlier studies. Echocardiography appears be most efficient technique for detection even subclinical useful tool following its progress.
