Nurses' perception of occupational stress and its influencing factors: A qualitative study.

摘要: Background : Studies have shown that nurses are under considerable job stress, which can lead to health disorders and failure in duties. Stressors of nursing been studied some quantitative studies; however, a few investigators the nurses’ life experiences this regard. The current qualitative research aimed understand perceptions job-related stress. Materials Methods: This study was conducted 2010-2011 by using content analysis technique. Data were collected through individual deep interviews with 19 working hospitals affiliated Kashan University Medical Sciences. data analyzed Krippendorff method. Results: Three categories emerged including “nurses’ perception from stress,” “professional interest,” “prioritizing career over family life.” first category included following subcategories “being constantly alarm situation,” “lack experience,” “dignity social status,” proper logistics,” “shortage nurses,” “Irregularities organization,” “directors performance,” “undesirable relations among colleagues,” “the patients conditions” all effects on level professional Conclusion participants defined stress as condition nurse is pressure so quality care personal interrupted. Being continuous pressure, low dignity, manner managers important sources Providing appropriate logistics, improving coordination within hospital subsystems, relationships may decrease stressors profession.
