Experienced stressors and coping strategies among Iranian nursing students

摘要: College students are prone to stress due the transitional nature of college life. High levels believed affect students' health and academic functions. If is not dealt with effectively, feelings loneliness, nervousness, sleeplessness worrying may result. Effective coping strategies facilitate return a balanced state, reducing negative effects stress. This descriptive cross-sectional study was performed determine sources in nursing studying at Iran Faculty Nursing & Midwifery. All undergraduate enrolled years 1-4 during year 2004-2005 were included this study, total 366 questionnaires fully completed by students. The Student Stress Survey Adolescent Coping Orientation for Problem Experiences Inventory (ACOPE) used data collection. Most reported "finding new friends" (76.2%), "working people they did know" (63.4%) as interpersonal stress, "new responsibilities" (72.1%), "started college" (65.8%) intrapersonal more than others. most frequent source "increased class workload" (66.9%) environmental being "placed unfamiliar situations" (64.2%) "waiting long lines" (60.4%). Interpersonal frequently sources. First exposed variety stressors. Establishing student system improving it throughout school necessary equip effective skills. Efforts should include counseling helpers teachers, can be called upon these future careers.
