摘要: The optical responses of structured array noble-metal nanoparticle dimers immersed in a glass matrix are investigated theoretically, motivated by the recent experimental observation splitting surface plasmon bands silver arrays. To capture strong electromagnetic coupling between two approaching particles dimer, spectral representation multiple image formula has been used, and semiclassical description dielectric function is adopted from literature. resonance band incident longitudinal transverse polarized light found to be strongly dependent on particle diameter their separation. Our results shown accord with observation. Moreover, large redshift for polarization can reproduced. reflectivity spectrum further calculated dilute suspension dimer
