摘要: This paper explores associations between two demographic characteristics (i.e., sex and grade level) the peer network features size, density, homophily) of 144 third through eighth students (ages 8—15) in an urban, US elementary school with considerable diversity race socioeconomic status. The results offer only partial support for cultures theory, as differences size attenuated increasing levels. findings also highlight developmental trends, including a curvilinear effect on density grade-level increases cross-sex same-race relationships. Finally, includes discussion importance opportunity structures for, joint consideration influences on, children’s social networks.
