摘要: Speeded choice responses (reading or naming) to a relevant stimulus under conditions of spatial uncertainty are delayed by the simultaneous occurrence other events. This "filtering cost" occurs despite high discriminability target and distractors, which allows parallel detection in search through same displays. Reading is also when removal irrelevant objects from field coincides with onset target. Filtering costs caused processing events rather than mere presence items. They eliminated advance information about location presentation maintained distractors.
