摘要: Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) is the major serum carrier of sex hormones. However, growing evidence suggests that SHBG internalised and plays a role in regulating intracellular hormone action. This study was to determine whether testosterone uptake, metabolism, action androgen sensitive LNCaP prostate cancer cell line. Internalisation testosterone, effects on regulation responsive genes, growth were assessed. cells by independent process. Testosterone rapidly taken up effluxed as testosterone-glucuronide; however this effect reduced presence SHBG. Addition SHBG, rather than reducing bioavailability, further increased testosterone-induced expression specific antigen enhanced reduction receptor mRNA expression. Following 38 hours treatment morphology changed declined; however, cotreatment with abrogated these inhibitory effects. These findings clearly demonstrate an important regulatory modifying has implications for health disease.
