摘要: Sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG), a plasma protein that binds androgens and estrogens, also participates in the initial steps of membrane-based steroid signaling pathway human prostate breast. We have recently shown SHBG is expressed at mRNA levels In this study, we addressed whether locally SHBG: (1) Functions to regulate activation (2) influences androgen (AR) estrogen (ER) receptors. Using microarray analysis, identified specific genes are influenced by expression LNCaP MCF-7 cells manner consistent with each these properties. These findings suggest can play functional role responsiveness breast through multiple pathways perturbations local could contribute cancer.
