摘要: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects dietary supplementation with different fish oils (rich in PUFA) vs. hydrogenated animal fat (SFA) on semen production and quality, fatty acid composition, preservation properties boars under controlled commercial conditions. In Exp. 1 (in a research station), 44 boars, allocated 4 treatments, received daily 2.5 kg basal diet supplement 1) 62 g (AF, n = 12); 2) 60 menhaden oil containing 18% docosahexanoic (DHA) 15% eicosapentanoic (EPA; MO, 11); 3) tuna 33% DHA 6.5% EPA (TO, 4) 2 mg/kg biotin (MO+B, 10). Biotin is critical factor elongation PUFA. Semen collected according 3 successive phases: phase (twice per week for wk); (daily collection 10 wk). Experiment conducted conditions; 222 were randomly AF, TO treatments. twice weekly over 6-mo period. All diets balanced be iso-energetic provided an equivalent 989 mg vitamin E day. Classical measurements sperm quantity quality done both experiments. showed, after 28 wk supplementation, massive transfer n-3 PUFA into from fed (MO TO). No differences observed among treatments libido (P > 0.30), 0.20), or percentage motile cell 0.20). Unexpectedly, MO+B reduced normal compared other < 0.03). conclusion, although it modified composition sperm, oils, rich long chain acids, did not influence postejaculation.
