A retrospective survey of liver flukes in livestock based on abattoir data in Kermanshah, west of Iran

摘要: A retrospective study was carried from 2008 to 2013 estimate the prevalence of liver flukes in ruminants slaughtered at abattoir Kermanshah province, west Iran. total 663,633 animals 5-year period and totally 1.95 % livers were condemned due flukes. Fasciolosis responsible for 0.8, 0.7 1.5 % condemnations, whereas 1, 0.8 1 % because Dicrocoelium dendriticum infection sheep, goats cattle, respectively. significant difference observed among studied (p < 0.001) highest lowest detected cattle goats, Data showed seasonal pattern distomatosis sheep goat (p < 0.001). Liver condemnations fasciolosis prevalent during winter, summer autumn, respectively, dicrocoeliosis common autumn season winter goats. This survey provides baseline data future monitoring these potentially important parasitic infections region.
