摘要: A spotted fever group (SFG) rickettsia was isolated in Zimbabwe from a patient with tick-bite, fever, headache and regional lymphadenopathy. further six isolates were obtained Amblyomma hebraeum ticks collected Zimbabwe. These human tick indistinguishable each other, an Ethiopian SFG rickettsia, by microimmunofluorescence (MIF), sodium dodecyl sulphate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE), Western blotting polymerase chain reaction followed restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis (PCR-RFLP). They were, however, distinguishable other ricketsiae MIF serotyping the case of most closely related serotypes, Rickettsia conorii Israeli SDS-PAGE blot. PCR-RFLP failed to distinguish between Zimbabwean though these gave different digestion products R. conorii. The rickettsiae therefore represent previously undescribed rickettsial serotype which apparently is pathogenic beings. It proposed that new be named agent African tick-bite order it conorii, until now has been recognized as only infect man Africa.
