摘要: Abstract The introduction of heavily muscled breeds cattle has provided New Zealand farmers with a wider breed choice, but no data on the performance these breeds, relative to Friesian for bull beef production pasture are available. Thirty Friesian, Piedmontese × and Belgian Blue bulls were purchased at 3 months age farmed slaughter 18–20 age. Herbage intake was recorded over 18 days when heaviest group 15 old. (kg DOMI/head per day) similar three under continuous stocking ryegrass-white clover sward maintained surface height 8–10 cm. had lower biting rates (P < 0.05) spent more time idling than other two genotypes.
