摘要: Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence various Candida species and some their virulence factors among thevulvovaginal candidiasis(VVC)patients. Study Design Settings: conducted in a Tertiary Care University Hospital North India. Materials Methods: This carried out prospectively for period 1 year. High vaginal swabs (HVSs) were collected from women childbearing age group attending gynecology obstetrics out-patient departments with complaints suggestive vulvovaginitis. Samples plated on Sabouraud's dextrose agar slope. spp. isolated further speciated based microscopy, biochemical tests culture characteristics special media. Virulence these strains determined by biofilm formation phospholipase activity. Result: A total 464 HVS 232 patients vulvovaginitis included study. Following laboratory workup, 71 specimens positive genus (30.6%). Further speciation showed 32.4% as albicans, 45.07% parapsilosis 22.53% glabrata. Biofilm production shown 50 candidal (70.4%) activity given 41 (57.74%). Conclusion: Our suggests increasing non-albicans VVC cases along factors. Therefore, we recommend that microbiological investigation upto level should be mandatory emergence major cause VVC.
