摘要: Fractal geometry can be used to develop a multiscale approach investigate the spatial organization of urban fabrics. First, concepts behind fractal reference models are introduced so as provide better understanding results obtained from empirical analyses patterns. Then, different methods for conducting presented and patterns discussed. It turns out that, despite their irregular appearance, often organized by an inherent order principle, at least across certain range scales. More detailed analysis findings reveals links between these properties historical contexts in which cities or districts developed. The influence specific planning on behavior may also identified, whereas national context has less hold.
