摘要: Objectives: To examine vitamin D status and its association with physical performance muscle mass in older Chinese men. Design: Cross-sectional prospective cohort study design. Setting: Hong Kong, People's of Republic China. Participants: Nine hundred thirty-nine community-dwelling men aged 65 for cross-sectional analysis 714 longitudinal analysis. Measurements: Baseline serum 25-hydroxyvitamin (25OHD) was measured using a competitive radioimmunoassay kit. 4-year measures (grip strength, 6-m walking speed, step length walk, time to complete five chair stands) were measured, appendicular skeletal (ASM) assessed dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry. Data collected confounding factors: demographic, number diseases, smoking, alcohol use, body index, activity, diet, season blood sampling, parathyroid hormone (PTH) level. Multivariate regression analyses performed adjustments factors. Results: Mean ± standard deviation 25OHD level this sample who had high baseline function 77.9 20.5 nmol/L; 94.1% participants levels 50 nmol/L or greater. Median (interquartile range) PTH 4.1 pmol/L (3.15.5 pmol/L). After adjustment potential factors, not associated change ASM. Conclusion: In are replete have function, may an important role mass.
