The effect of feedback to general practitioners on quality of care for people with type 2 diabetes. A systematic review of the literature.

摘要: There have been numerous efforts to improve and assure the quality of treatment follow-up people with Type 2 diabetes (PT2D) in general practice. Facilitated by increasing usability validity guidelines, indicators databases, feedback on care is a promising tool this aspect. Our goal was assess effect practitioners (GPs) for PT2D based available literature. Systematic review searches were conducted using October 2008 updates Medline (Pubmed), Cochrane library Embase databases. Additional reference lists related articles conducted. Papers included if published English, performed as randomized controlled trials, studying diabetes, having practice setting GPs care. The papers assessed according predefined criteria. Ten studies complied inclusion Feedback improved PT2D, particularly process outcomes such foot exams, eye exams Hba1c measurements. Clinical like lowering blood pressure, cholesterol levels seen few studies. Many outcome measures did not improve, while none deteriorated. Meta analysis unfeasible due heterogeneity included.
