Accelerated coated conductor program at Los Alamos National Laboratory

摘要: In order to accelerate research and development of coated conductors (CC), a new facility has been developed at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) with labs dedicated scaled-up fabrication characterization CC. These laboratories include facilities for metal tape preparation, ion-beam assisted deposition (IBAD) template layers, superconductor by laser ablation (PLD), as well materials including low-temperature transport measurements. The work builds on the prior successes LANL CC program, such benchmark results critical currents over 300 A 1-cm-wide short samples deposited via IBAD PLD. have recently completed ability reel-to-reel processing characterization. Fabrication long lengths (>10 m) allow high-throughput experimentation linear combinatorial design. This is also made enable collaboration industrial other partners.
