Efficient removal of methyl orange from aqueous solution using mesoporous ZSM-5 zeolite: Synthesis, kinetics and isotherm studies

摘要: Abstract Zeolite are porous material with high surface area and adsorption capacity. It has been employed for the removal of organic contaminants from aqueous system. Here, we report synthesis mesoporous ZSM-5 zeolite using a bio template, cellulose. The adsorbent was investigated in detail by different characterization techniques such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission (TEM), N2 adsorption, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) 27Al nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) analysis. crystalline MFI nature confirmed XRD FTIR adsorption/desorption result showed that pore diameter which later through morphological SEM TEM. ability evaluated methyl orange (MO), an anionic azo dye. effect initial dye concentration, amount, contact time, temperature pH on MO process reviewed. percentage is 94.3 % much higher than conventional (73.2 %). Adsorption isotherm studies were interpreted two models i.e., Langmuir Freundlich model. indicates could be well described Meanwhile, kinetic data best pseudo-second-order recyclability test suggest synthesized superior regeneration capacity stable even after eight adsorption-desorption cycle. Thus, our results show promising competitor medium.
