摘要: Objectives. —To examine the trends of intravenous vancomycin usage during a 10-year period, to classify indications for which physicians prescribed antibiotic, and identify independent predictors empirical use vancomycin. Design. —A descriptive epidemiological study, cross-sectional case-control study were performed. Setting. 900-bed university-teaching hospital. In 109 randomly selected patient medical records, we evaluated proportion classified as prophylaxis, therapy, or specifically directed therapy. Conclusions. —Vancomycin has linearly last decade primarily related presence indwelling vascular devices hematology-oncology Use is equally divided among specific therapy documented infection.
