摘要: Metabolic profiling by NMR spectroscopy or hyphenated mass spectrometry, known as metabonomics metabolomics, is an important tool for systems-based approaches in biology and medicine. The experiments are typically done a diagnostic fashion where changes metabolite profiles interpreted consequence of intervention event; be that change diet, the administration drug, physical exertion onset disease. By contrast, pharmacometabonomics takes prognostic approach to metabolic profiling, order predict effects drug dosing before it occurs. Differences pre-dose between groups subjects used post-dose differences response administration. Thus paradigm inverted equivalent pharmacogenomics. Although field still its infancy, expected pharmacometabonomics, alongside pharmacogenomics, will assist with delivery personalised precision medicine patients, which critical goal 21st century healthcare.
