摘要: The serious impact of electromyogram (EMG) contamination electroencephalogram (EEG) is well recognised. objective this research to demonstrate that combining independent component analysis with the surface Laplacian can eliminate EMG EEG, and validate processing does not degrade expected neurogenic signals. method involves sequential application ICA, using a manual procedure identify discard components, followed by Laplacian. extent decontamination quantified comparing processed EEG EMG-free data was recorded during pharmacologically induced neuromuscular paralysis. combination ICA Laplacian, flexible spherical spline, results in strong suppression at all scalp sites frequencies. Furthermore, impair detection well-known, cerebral responses; alpha activity eyes-closed; ERP components (N1, P2) response an auditory oddball task; steady state responses photic stimulation. Finally, more splines increase We postulate due enabling removal local muscle sources transform being insensitive distant (postural) contamination.
